This year, Moriah College will embark upon the largest and most exciting capital campaign in its history.
Its time to upgrade our campus.
It’s time to invest in our community.
It’s time to Rise Up for the generations to come.
4 Reasons to Rise Up
Education has changed, many of our classrooms haven't.
Our High School was built over 35 years ago and in that time education has changed significantly. Today, learning spaces should allow students to move seamlessly from instructional learning to inquiry-based learning so they can delve into cutting-edge areas like artificial intelligence, coding, robotics, digital arts, filming, and bioinformatics.
The foundation of a strong community is education.
Extensive research by both the Pew Research centre and the Avi Chai Foundation supports the strong correlation between Jewish Day School enrollments and the strength of Jewish communities around the world. Moriah’s new High School building will be a source of inspiration, as well as a space to use, for the entire community.
We need to invest in our talent and attract the best.
We are aspirational people and we believe in giving our children the best opportunities that we can. We must move forward and progress, we must remain competitive with other independent schools, and we must invest in the professional development of our staff whilst attracting the best teachers and brightest students.
We are responsible for future generations.
Half of all the children who attend Jewish high schools in Sydney are at Moriah. Moriah is a hotbed for future communal leaders, workers, supporters of Israel, contributors to broader society, and we must modernise so our graduates can play a critical role in the vitality and strength of Jewish continuity and of our community overall.

Preparing Moriah students for the changing world
Library and Study Centre
The modern, state-of-the-art Library and Study Centre will be a dynamic, multifunctional space that blends traditional resources with cutting-edge technology and flexible learning areas.
The library will support a wide range of educational activities, foster creativity and collaboration, and provide access to information and learning tools, making it a vital hub for student engagement and achievement.
Multipurpose Hall
The self-contained Multipurpose Hall will provide myriad opportunities to our Moriah family and the Jewish community.
Whether being used as two smaller rooms or a larger single space, the hall will be ideal for a range of school and communal events. Importantly, visitors will be able to enjoy the space both during and after school hours, without requiring access to the broader school grounds or facilities.
Design & Technology (D&T) Centre
The Moriah D&T Centre will provide the resources and environment necessary for students to engage in experiential learning, encouraging creativity, problem-solving and collaboration. These facilities will help students develop both technical skills and critical thinking abilities, equipping them for success in various fields such as engineering, architecture, industrial design and more.
Science Centre
The expansive Moriah Science Centre will include eight generously proportioned modern science laboratories.
It will allow our students to transition seamlessly from the theory of science education to the study of observation and experimentation, as they learn to question, think rationally and solve problems, using modern equipment and laboratories.
Visual Arts Centre
The Moriah Visual Arts Centre will be an exciting creative hub comprising four spacious visual arts studios, a dark room, kiln room, visual arts faculty space and open collaboration area.
With exceptional access to natural light and overlooking the gardens, the centre will inspire creative expression through a variety of art forms and mediums.
Doubling our green space
The new High School will allow for the demolition of outdated buildings and the doubling of green space. An avenue of trees will be planted to improve circulation and wayfinding, separate the functional uses of the campus, and provide shade to seating.
Four large central lawns with terraced seating will enable students to socialise and relax outdoors, and learning gardens will create opportunities to study outdoors.
Three flexible all-purpose courts with bleachers will provide opportunities for school sports, outdoor learning, and special events.
"We are people who build, who believe in investing in our children and who strive for the best. It has been 13 years since our last capital appeal, and more than 30 years since we built the High School. The time has come to renew our facilities so our children can thrive in today’s world. Please help us to succeed."
